Finding himself too busy with Megaphon and acoustic design projects to properly manage the label himself, in 2004 Shane employed Tegan Northwood (a singer-songwriter, composer and previous colleage) to grow the label, starting with the existing albums, with a focus on setting up digital distribution.
Since then the focus of the label has evolved into its own identity and now reflects the tastes of the people who own and run it. These days we are more into natural sounds, field recordings, soundscape, pop and electronic, plus the many hybrid forms of these genres that are around at the moment. But there is still an emphasis on strong musicality and original sounds within that.
Recent/forthcoming releases include Tegan's newest album; finally a solo album of soundscape from Shane Fahey, and a double-CD compilation of ambient/experimental/drone trio A Slow Rip. Also coming soon will be a select 22-track CD compilation of the German label V.O.D.'s vinyl boxed set of previously unreleased M Squared material.
Past albums on our catalog include the electro-acoustic programming and medieval instrumentation of Azeruz; the lo-fi/experimental garage rock sounds of Alien Christ; the electronic beats and programming of Durango; crafted melodic folk-pop songs of ex-Died Pretty member Steve Clark; the rootsy rock of Sydney outfit Gentle Assassins; electronic ambient-pop and swirling guitars of Tegan Northwood; and the experimental/field-recording compositional pieces of Social Interiors.
Licencing our music
If you wish to use one or more tracks on our catalog for use in TV/film/other media, you can contact us to discuss licencing through us directly, rather than go through PPCA for a blanket licence. (You would have to do this anyway if your useage falls outside of their scope.) We're open to negotiating with you.
